I don’t know about you, but between three little kids, we’ve had a LOT of boo-boos this summer. It seems someone is always scraping a knee, scratching an arm or leg, or otherwise getting “wounded” (as my 4-year-old likes to say). So, we’ve gone through our fair share of Band-Aids!
And you know what all those Band-Aid applications mean — eventually, we have to peel them off.
Sometimes, that’s no problem. (In fact, sometimes, they come off a little too easily, which is why we invest in quality for the serious jobs.) But sometimes those stubborn things hang on with the persistence of a leech! They’re not going down without a fight and a consolation prize of several layers of skin.
Painfully removing stubborn Band-Aids is certainly not my favorite childhood memory, and it hasn’t been my favorite party of parenting, either. But while I have many memories of peeling them off as a kid, my kids will no longer remember that pain. Because now I know the secret!
Read on to learn my easy trick to painlessly remove stubborn, stuck-on Band-Aids.
How to Painlessly Remove Stuck-On Band-Aids
Got a stubborn bandage that doesn’t want to come off? Here’s the super easy way to painlessly remove stuck-on Band-Aids without the tears!
What You’ll Need:
- Baby oil, almond oil, fractionated coconut oil, olive oil — basically any kind of skin-safe oil you have on hand (petroleum jelly or baby shampoo work, too)
- Cotton ball
How to Easily Remove Band-Aids:
- Rub a cotton ball soaked in oil (see above for suggestions) over the Band-Aid until fully saturated
- Slowly peel back the Band-Aid
- Add more oil if it still doesn’t want to come off
If that doesn’t work, well… you’ll just have to do it the old-fashioned way. We survived a few missing layers of skin, and our kids will, too. 😉
But hopefully, this method will save you many tears on your Band-Aid removals!
