My oldest son, Aidan, LOVES history. Actually, as much as the word “love” gets casually thrown around, that doesn’t feel sufficient to describe his feelings on the subject. It’s more like an infatuation bordering on obsession. 😆 Not a day goes by without him regaling us with facts about obscure battles, geopolitical events, and other historic happenings. We even got him a shirt for his birthday that says, “WARNING: May start talking about history.”
His passion for history is strong, and as a result, we’ve become VERY familiar with books for kids who love history. We’ve collected volumes from a variety of series, filled our bookshelves with chronicles of the past, and read our way through the repertoire of beloved historical fiction authors. Using our experience, we’ve assembled some of our favorites in one convenient list for the history-lovers in your life!
