Our family is pretty big on outdoor play. Levon and the kids always have been, and I’ve been working on getting outside more, myself, since reading Until the Streetlights Come On and There’s No Such Thing as Bad Weather. There are so many benefits to outdoor play including cognitive development, physical activity, emotional well-being, and boosted immunity. And as we head into the spring and summer months, my kids will be spending more and more hours outside. I love the sound of the front door closing behind them, because I know they’re about to soak up the blessings of nature!
Want to encourage your own kids (or the special kids in your life) to spend more time outside? Check out this list of 40 open-ended outdoor toys and games for HOURS of outdoor play!
