Over the last several years of Christmas shopping for the kids, I’ve discovered something interesting. It turns out, I really REALLY love shopping for stocking stuffers. I love it as much as shopping for their regular presents! I don’t know what it is about stocking stuffers for kids, but they’re just so much fun! In fact, I have to dial back my regular gift budget a bit to allow for my stocking stuffers. *wink*
A few years ago, when my kids were all still itty bitty, I wrote this stocking stuffer post with several fun and interesting ideas. Since then, my kids have gotten older, and I’ve gained more experience. With those extra years under my belt, I decided to write a new post full of even more stocking stuffer ideas!
25 MORE Stocking Stuffer Ideas
Shopping for my kids’ stockings brings me so much joy – I just love it! Here are some of my favorite stocking stuffers for kids.
Note: I get most of these when they’re on sale around Black Friday, or I shop around at Walmart and Dollar Tree to see if they have cheaper options. But for convenience’s sake, I’m going to mostly link to Amazon in this post.
1. Small books
I know, I included this idea in my other list, but it’s just that good!
- Board books for little ones
- Early readers for preschool-first grade (or older!)
- Small chapter books for older kids — we LOVE the Who Was books for stocking stuffers!
I got some great ones for the kids this year. I’m so excited!
3. Back scratchers
My kids recently discovered a back scratcher at their grandparents’ house, and they were obsessed with it. They loved it so much, I got a cheap set to divide up as stocking stuffers!
I found some $5 pairs at Walmart a while back, but you could get a set and divide them among your kids. I didn’t worry about them being too big, since they’ll only be worn around the house.
5. Finger puzzles & brain teasers
My boys LOOOOVE these kids of things, and I love that they keep their hands occupied and their brains engaged!
6. Fidget toys
There are SO MANY options to choose from! My son, Andrew, loves his infinity cube, and I found a Dollar Tree version of this sensory fidget toy.
7. Small games
8. Rubik’s Cube
Pro tip: Knock-off Rubik’s cubes are great for testing out the interest of younger kids. 😉
9. “Spa” items
10. Hair accessories
11. Stick-on earrings
I did some research to get some for my daughter this year, and these had the best reviews.
14. Silly putty, slime, or squishies
Basically, anything they can squish!
15. Notebooks, journals, and sketchpads
16. Plastic animals
I got this set of sharks for Andrew this year. I’m going to put a couple in his stocking and save the rest for reward prizes throughout the year. (I’ve found small prizes to be a very effective motivator for him!)
17. Small dolls or doll clothes
18. Fun pens
20. Blank books
I LOVE these blank books for encouraging kids to write, and my kids go crazy over them! I get a big pack and give them as gifts throughout the year, such as for stocking stuffers and summer kick-off gifts.
21. Glow sticks
This was a family tradition growing up that I’ve continued with my own kids!
25. Fruit snacks
This is another tradition for us. Since I don’t get fruit snacks very often, it’s a treasured treat!
