We have a couple of SUPER sweet neighbors who gave us a full bushel(!) of apples from their orchard a couple of weeks ago. I know, how nice, right??
So after making some of my (ridiculously easy) homemade applesauce that is a fall food staple at our house, I had plenty left over for other goodies!
Because as much as I love a good pumpkin treat, no fall season is complete without the mouthwatering taste and smell of baking apples. Mmmm…
If you want to bring in the best of autumn’s comforts, try one (or all!) of these delicious apple recipes.
20 Apple Recipes Perfect for Fall
Before we dive into the list, I need to quickly mention that if you’re going to be making apple treats over the next few weeks, you’re going to want an apple peeler/corer/slicer. Not only will it save you tons of time, it’ll save your hands, too! It’s well-worth the (small) investment!
Now that I’ve given my PSA, let’s get on with the recipes!
- Apple Pie — This is a nice, easy “no fail” recipe for this classic treat!
- Apple crisp — My husband LOVES a good pie, but I’m more of a crisp girl, myself. (Though, don’t get me wrong, he certainly doesn’t turn down tasty crisp, either.)
- Apple pie bars — These AMAZING bars are like a cross between a pie and a crisp, and they’re so easy to make for a crowd! (Or… you know… just you and your family. *wink*)
- Apple turnovers — While I haven’t actually made these turnovers myself, they promise to be easy, and the reviews are fantastic!
- Waffles — When these are made with homemade applesauce… ohmygoodnesssss
- Applesauce — Speaking of which, this is hands-down the easiest way to make homemade applesauce. And it keeps it au natural with NO added sugar!
- Apple donuts — I don’t usually care for donuts (weird, I know), but I could eat gobs of these!
- Apple muffins — When I make muffins, it’s usually for breakfasts, lunches, or snacks, so I like them to be healthy. And Cookie + Kate is one of my favorite go-to sources for real food recipes!
- Fritters — I’ll be honest, fritters are another one I haven’t tried making myself. But this recipe looked so good, I just might have to fix that soon!
- Apple butter — I LOVE apple butter, and if you ask me, making it in the slow cooker is the way to do it! It’s easy, it’s hands-off, and it makes the whole house smell delectably like fall.
- Baked apples — If you’re looking for something that doesn’t require peeling, try these baked apples!
- Apple cake — You can’t go wrong with a Betty Crocker classic!
- Apple cider — Just thinking about hot cider makes me feel all warm and cozy and ready for fall!
- Caramel apples — Here’s a recipe from Food Network if you want to do the “real” thing, but if you don’t have a candy thermometer (or you don’t want to risk messing it up), here’s an easy “cheater” recipe!
- Caramel apple scones — Oh my goodness, how amazing do these look??
- Rustic apple tart — We love anything “rustic” around here!
- Dehydrated apple chips — These are a GREAT healthy snack! Here’s how to make them in the oven OR in a dehydrator.
- Hand pies — These are so stinkin’ cute, they’re great for easy portions, and they take less time to bake!
- Apple salad — I can’t forget about the deliciousness of raw apples! This is a SUPER easy salad you can throw together in minutes. BONUS: I like to toss apple chunks into my chicken salad when I have them, too!
- Roasted Cinnamon-Spiced Butternut Squash with Sweet Potatoes & Apples – After a list FULL of sweet recipes, we need something savory, right? And this dish from my friend Kishona is just the thing!
