It’s here, it’s here, it’s finally here! Today is release day!
My new ebook, Love the Ones You’re With: A 30-Day Joyful Motherhood Challenge, is now available in my shop, and I couldn’t be more excited. This is literally a lifelong dream coming true.
A Dream Come True
From my early elementary years, barely past the age when I first learned to write, I dreamed of writing a book. What started as the confident imaginings of a child, however, morphed into a pipe dream in my more practical and less self-assured adolescent years. It got tucked back into the recesses of my heart, kept hidden by thoughts of “who do you think you are?”
I never dared to let it out into the open for the next several years. It remained my secret dream. One I was too scared and too insecure to share with anyone for fear of judgment or ridicule.
Until the day I shared it with my husband. I told him that I had always wanted to write a book. And he immediately responded, “Do it.”
I quickly backpedaled and said, “Oh no. That’s just something I say. I could never actually do it.”
To which he replied, “Why not?”
That “why not” haunted me. Too many years of believing that I was not good enough, that I didn’t have anything worthwhile to offer, and that it was out of my reach had led me to shelve my dream as an impossibility. But once I really started asking, “yeah … why not?” I couldn’t let it go. And in these days when self-publishing is becoming more and more legitimized and popular, there really was no reason not to.
And now … it’s here!
But It’s Not About Me
But this is about so much more than just accomplishing a goal or realizing a dream. The biggest reason I am excited about releasing this book is that I am eager to share my gifts and my passions in a way that will help others.
I’ve read a lot of amazing, powerful books for moms. A LOT of books for moms. And every time I read one that is especially helpful or impactful, I think, “One day, I want to write a book that inspires another mom the way this book inspired me.” Not for my own glory or fame, but to help other moms. And bring God glory while I do it.
Maybe it’s because I’ve always loved books, or maybe it’s because I actually became a mom because of one, but I truly believe in the power of books to change people’s lives. I’ve seen firsthand how just one page can change the trajectory of a life forever. And the right word can be lifegiving to those who read it.
That’s why I deeply desire to offer whatever lifegiving words I have to other moms, and I filled Love the Ones You’re With full of them.
I say that will all the humility I have. Believe me, it doesn’t come naturally to me to “sell” my own words. It feels a little weird, actually. But I’m doing it. Not because I think I’m wise or because I think I’m a wonderful writer, but because I believe these challenges came from straight from the Holy Spirit. And I have personally felt their powerful effects.
Love the Ones You’re With: A 30-Day Joyful Motherhood Challenge
Now that I’ve shared a little bit of my heart, let me tell you more about the book.
I wrote this book after a particularly dry season of motherhood. I was tired and frustrated all the time. I was yelling too much and loving too little. And I was complaining much too often about my kids. I had definitely lost my joy.
So I went on a desperate search to find it again. And that led me to create the 30-day joyful motherhood challenge that you’ll read in this book. These 30 challenges drastically changed my attitude, helped me reconnect with my kids, and basically restored some much-needed joy in my mothering.
And I sincerely hope they do the same for you.
This book will meet you right where you are in the trenches and extend a hand to lift you up. Up to a place of greater joy and renewed purpose in motherhood. Up to a place of peace and contentment in your home. Up to a place where you love the ones you’re with … and they love being with you!
Whether you’re in a tough season of motherhood or you just want to add a little more joy to your days, you will want to take this challenge.
These 30 days will:
- Reignite a passion for motherhood
- Restore joy to your everyday mothering
- Forge deeper bonds & build lasting connections with your kids
- Transform you from a tired, grumpy mom to a mom that’s fun to be around
- Equip you to face the ups and downs of motherhood with greater purpose and joy
- Rejuvenate you for the journey
If that sounds like something you could use in your life, then I invite you to join me in the journey to Love the Ones You’re With.
