I love sharing awesome things that I find. Whether it’s books that impact me, articles that encourage me, how-to’s that teach me, or recipes that satisfy me, I enjoy passing them on! Social media and this blog make that easier than ever – which is great!
I started doing this series a few months ago to help busy moms who don’t have time to wade through the fluff online in order to find something useful. My lists serve up the good stuff on a silver platter! (The series was formerly titled “5 Links You Don’t Want to Miss,” but I’m changing it to “[Current Month’s] Fabulous Finds,” so be on the lookout for that title from now on!) Each month I try to include a variety of topics and types of resources, and I’m committed to only including what I truly loved in order to guarantee that you’ll find something you love, too!
June’s Fabulous Finds
- Recipe – Tuna Pasta Recipe
My husband works outside, so throughout the summer I’m constantly trying to find cold lunch and dinner ideas for him. The last thing he wants after 9 hours in 90 degree weather is a hot casserole! He really appreciates when I fix something that will cool him off after a tough day, but it can be difficult to come up with lots of cold meals that are still able to satisfy my 6’5″ man! This recipe was yummy AND filling! We’ve had it by itself and on a bed of lettuce (from our garden – YUM!), and it’s good both ways!

- Awesome Article – More Than a Mom, from Kayse Pratt
I truly loved this article! I thought it was the perfect balance of highlighting the value of motherhood while also encouraging moms to cultivate the other aspects of their identities. Honestly, I don’t find that often. People seem to either think that motherhood is a hindrance to “real” goals and aspirations or they think that motherhood should be your all-consuming passion in life. Rarely do I find someone who so eloquently explains how and why we can find the middle ground. If you have ever felt guilty for wanting to be “more than a mom” (or judged another mom for her desires!), then this is a must-read article for you!
- Dinner ideas – 16 Recipes for When You’re Out of Dinner Ideas, from The Modern Mary
I shared this link on my Facebook page a few days ago. In the first few years of our marriage before we had kids, I loved cooking elaborate dinners for Levon, and I thought nothing of spending hours in the kitchen for one meal. With a toddler and a baby on the way, those days are long gone! I still place high importance on preparing nutritious, home-cooked meals for my family, but I now mostly look for recipes that are quick, simple, and require few ingredients. This list fit that bill! And it contained a few ideas that I’ve never tried before!
- Encouragement – Homemaking is a Ministry, from Embracing a Simpler Life
“I didn’t see it coming, but somewhere along the way, I began to realize the eternal, beautiful, godly, glorious significance of Biblical homemaking.” — I really like this quote from the article because that is the exact transformational process that I have been on the last couple years. Don’t get me wrong – I am NO Martha Stewart or Mrs. Clean, but I now place a value on homemaking that I just couldn’t recognize early in our married life. This is a beautiful article about the important ministry of homemaking that you should definitely read if you’ve ever seen it as a burden (as I’m sure we all have!)

NuMe Silhouette Flat Iron & Argan Oil for only $39 + Free shipping! A $139 value!
I love Money Saving Mom, and I have found some awesome deals on her site! This is one she posted back in May, but it’s good through June 30, so you have a little time! I needed a new straightener, and after reading Crystal’s review, I decided to give it a try. I mean, a $139 value for only $39? That’s a good deal!
The verdict: I LOVE it! The argan oil makes my hair SO soft, and the straightener is simply incomparable to any of my cheap-o ones I’ve gotten in the past. If you’re in the market for a new flat iron … or even if you’re not! … I encourage you to consider this deal! (And if you’re curious, no, I’m not an affiliate for this deal, just a satisfied customer! 🙂 )
